Blazing on the scene in the early 90's Hal Ketchum struck radio gold with his first single "Small Town Saturday Night" which shot to number one on the country charts. Mike Curb CEO and owner of Curb Records refers to Hal as his "cornerstone artist." Hal's success continued with 15 top ten hits, proving he is here to stay, selling over five million records. His new release, Father Time, was recorded in two amazing days. It will be in stores Sept 5th, 2008, but you can hear it on your favorite radio station very soon!

At the ripe old age of 22, the Dedringers are on a roll. Recently they have opened shows for The Doobie Brothers, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Joe Ely, James McMurtry, Hayes Carll ...just to name a few. They have the unique ability to win over audiences young and old. "People our age like us because what we do seems different. Older audiences like us because they grew up listening to the music that has influenced us," says Sean Faires, co-founder of the band. He and partner Jonny Burke have been playing together for five years developing their style and honing in on a razor sharp live show. Their new record, Sweetheart of the Neighborhood (produced by R.S. Field), will be released later this month, but will be available for free at select independent record stores across the country via the DEDCROW label.. In tonight’s announcement of nominees for the 2008 Americana Honors & Awards, James McMurtry was nominated in three categories: “Best Artist,” “Best Album” and “Best Song.” The album is his current CD, Just Us Kids on Lightning Rod Records, and the song is the controversial “Cheney’s Toy.” McMurtry was tied for most nominations. McMurtry’s breakthrough album, Just Us Kids, spent six weeks at #1 in Radio & Records Americana Music Chart and appeared on four charts in Billboard.

Gurf has recently created the completely instrumental companion disc to Diamonds to Dust. Birth to Boneyard contains the songs from Diamonds To Dust, but Gurf removed the vocals and replaced them with sounds - samples of monks chanting, odd swirly ambiances, slide guitar, weird keyboards, etc. The interesting and evocative textures create a unique aural soundscape.
