What folks are saying about Ribbon of Highway, Endless Skyway
"What an incredible tribute to Woody. The collection of artists on this album is outstanding and their feel for Woody's music is unsurpassed. The interplay of his words as spoken by Bob Childers and the songs interpreted by Michael Fracasso, Eliza Gilkyson, and all the others is the best I have heard. The personal touch added by Sara Lee Guthrie and others makes Woody come alive again. " Bob Brown, WNMC
"I always knew Woody as a great writer of our time, but after this presentation, I realized how profound his work was/is today!" Cathy Creed, WDBX

Listen Up to The Dedringers!
At the ripe old age of 22, the Dedringers are on a roll. Recently they have opened shows for The Doobie Brothers, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Joe Ely, James McMurtry, Hayes Carll ...just to name a few. They have the unique ability to win over audiences young and old. "People our age like us because what we do seems different. Older audiences like us because they grew up listening to the music that has influenced us," says Sean Faires, co-founder of the band. He and partner Jonny Burke have been playing together for five years developing their style and honing in on a razor sharp live show. Their new record, Sweetheart of the Neighborhood (produced by R.S. Field), will be released later this month, but will be available for free at select independent record stores across the country via the DEDCROW label.. DEDCROW is a joint venture between the band and their manager Mike Crowley. CLICK HERE to download 9 tracks FREE for a limited time.
"They write their songs with lightning and rock like they want blood". - Ray Wylie Hubbard

"When The Dedringers play the Hollywood Bowl we hope that they will let us open for them". - James McMurtry

JAMES McMURTRY IS NOMINATED FOR “BEST ARTIST,” “BEST ALBUM” AND “BEST SONG” IN 2008 AMERICANA MUSIC HONORS & AWARDS
In tonight’s announcement of nominees for the 2008 Americana Honors & Awards, James McMurtry was nominated in three categories: “Best Artist,” “Best Album” and “Best Song.” The album is his current CD, Just Us Kids on Lightning Rod Records, and the song is the controversial “Cheney’s Toy.” McMurtry was tied for most nominations. McMurtry’s breakthrough album, Just Us Kids, spent six weeks at #1 in Radio & Records Americana Music Chart and appeared on four charts in Billboard.
GURF MORLIX IS NOMINATED FOR “INSTRUMENTALIST OF THE YEAR” IN 2008 AMERICANA MUSIC HONORS & AWARDS
Congratulations, Gurf Morlix! Gurf is nominated for Instrumentalist of the Year for the 2008 Americana Music Awards! Gurf will release Birth to Boneyard - an instrumental companion to his much acclaimed Diamonds to Dust. Stay tuned for more info!
Gurf Morlix's Birth to Boneyard
Gurf has recently created the completely instrumental companion disc to Diamonds to Dust. Birth to Boneyard contains the songs from Diamonds To Dust, but Gurf removed the vocals and replaced them with sounds - samples of monks chanting, odd swirly ambiances, slide guitar, weird keyboards, etc. The interesting and evocative textures create a unique aural soundscape. Very cinematic. Open your mind and let this music fill some space. Stay tuned for more information!

Listen Up to Susan Gibson!
With the release of New Dog, Old Tricks on Smith Entertainment Records, Susan Gibson drops a savvy follow-up to 2005's Outer Space, and in doing so re-establishes herself not only as an acclaimed songwriter, but offers up proof that she could be considered a marketing whiz as well. Gibson is re-introducing ten original songs previously recorded with her old band, while tossing in four new co-writes with a curious mix of musical talent for good measure.
Moving to Missoula, Mont., for a stint in forest ranger school, Susan Gibson discovered open-mic nights and song swaps that inspired her passion to write. It was during this time that Gibson penned "Wide Open Spaces." Her latest release, New Dog, Old Tricks, represents full versatility of Gibson's songwriting prowess. It contains songs from her Groobee days and new co-writes (with the likes of Adam Carroll, Mark Jungers, and TC Smythe). Gibson's canine companions are rescue dogs, and fittingly enough, a portion of this record's proceeds will benefit the non-profit and its as-of-yet not-adopted population of rescued pets. CLICK HERE to pre-order your copy today.

High Praise for Robyn Ludwick
Check out what folks are saying about Robyn Ludwick's Too Much Desire:
"Robyn did two things that will forever imprint her career: she chose not to use her illustrious maiden name, Robison, and she waited until she was good and ready to seriously pursue music...a transitional stage that makes it easy for her music to cut to the bone. Too Much Desire benefits from brothers Bruce and Charlie, as well as husband John Ludwick, but the album's charm and substance are pure Robyn" ~ Austin Chronicle
"Too Much Desire hits you like ton of bricks... with arrangements that are sometimes scary, building up a tension to a chilling level full of emotion. There are not many cd's that grab you by the throat like this one and no matter how often you listen to it, the feeling remains" ~ Rootstime Magazine
"Too Much Desire...chock full of spit and soul, Robyn Ludwick's sophomore album showcases classic Texas Songwriting in her distinctive, lived in vocals...a master storyteller that nails the details" ~ No Depression Magazine

Listen Up To Robyn Ludwick!
Robyn Ludwick's maiden name happens to be Robison, but the fact that her two older brothers are renowned Texas singer-songwriters didn't lure her into following their footsteps. However, a stream of intense experiences triggered her latent songwriting gene, which manifested itself in tunes she describes as "tender and tough; Southern poetry with dirt floors and electric guitars." Robyn's new release, Too Much Desire, is a set of soulful originals, with influences from Jackson Browne to Emmylou Harris. Robyn's voice bears slight comparisons to a young Lucinda Williams or Stevie Nicks and her musical sensibility has been characterized as "sharp, drenched in hardscrabble Southwestern country... beautifully impure, covered in blood, bone and marrow." CLICK HERE to order your copy today.
Listen Up To Rancho Deluxe!
Considered one of California's top new bands, Rancho Deluxe blends Americana roots with hard-hitting rock on their sophomore release, True Freedom. Rancho Deluxe (featuring Mark Adams and Jesse Jay Harris) has received high praise from critics and fans alike, including this review in Dirty Linen: "...these are great songs that are a blend of country, rock-n-roll, and bluegrass, and they are done very well, featuring some fiery breaks." True Freedom will be available in stores June 23rd, but CLICK HERE to preorder your copy today!

Listen Up to Adam Carroll!
Adam Carroll joins the short list of down-home storytellers taking events of ordinary lives and turning them into deeply moving, often humorous songs. Though he's kept a low profile, his past 3 records have earned him critical acclaim throughout the world. It's little surprise that he's earned enviable comparisons to the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Todd Snider, John Prine, and even Bob Dylan. Like those songwriters, Carroll uses ironic (but heartfelt) humor to leaven his sometimes personal, usually emotional, and always poignant observations. His upcoming record, Old Town Rock n Roll, is an intimate tapestry of life on the road. CLICK HERE for more info about Adam Caroll.

Listen Up To James McMurtry!
McMurtry has long been known as fine storyteller, but he has lately received nationwide attention for his role as a musical activist. On Just Us Kids (available April 15th), McMurtry picks up where he left off with his controversial anthem “We Can’t Make It Here.” "Cheney's Toy," reminds us that the war in Iraq is still going on, with veiled references to Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib and the stark image of a soldier who returned from the conflict, blind and brain damaged. CLICK HERE for your free download of "Cheney's Toy." McMurtry and Lightning Rod Records are encouraging fans to use the free mp3 to create their own videos and post them online. McMurtry will choose the best videos and post them on his official MySpace page and website. If needed, fans can create videos using slideshow applications at RockYou.com. Creators of each of the top five video creators will receive t-shirts and autographed copies of McMurtry’s new album, Just Us Kids (in stores April 15, 2008). McMurtry’s choice for the best overall video will also receive an 8 Gb Apple iPod nano with video capabilities. Fans can send links to their videos to mcmurtryvideo@gmail.com. Listen Up To The South Austin Jug Band
There’s no jug-playing in the South Austin Jug Band. And the bluegrass connotation that name carries should be spilled down the drain along with any other moonshine-preconceived notions. Sure, there’s fiddle, mandolin, an upright bass … but there’s also drumming, occasional electric guitar and even digital looping. And Beck. The band’s latest album, Strange Invitation, gets its title from a lyric in Mr. Hansen’s 1997 charmer, “Jackass,” the only cover on this 11-song collection. Regardless of how they’re played or what they’re about, the songs on Strange Invitation have one thing in common: They can’t help but sound melodic. Even the occasional melancholy verse can’t put “gravity shackles” (to quote Beck) on the uplifting sweep of that beautifully braided mandolin-fiddle combo. Their tight sound and fluid melodies may have something to do with the fact that core members Hyland, Ludiker and Beken have played together for more than seven years, inspiring each other and their listeners with their amazing music. Strange Invitation will be in stores April 1st.

JAMES McMURTRY OFFERS FREE mp3 OF NEW POLITICAL SONG AND ANNOUNCES MAKE-YOUR-OWN-VIDEO CONTEST
Singer/songwriter James McMurtry is once again making a political statement through his music. On his new song “Cheney’s Toy”, McMurtry picks up where he left off with his controversial anthem “We Can’t Make it Here.” “Cheney’s Toy” reminds us that the war in Iraq is still going on — with veiled references to Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib and the stark image of a soldier who returned from the conflict, blind and brain damaged.
In order to make sure people get the message, McMurtry is giving away the song for free on February 4 exclusively through eMusic’s Daily Download. On the Super Tuesday primary day (February 5) fans will be able to download the mp3 from McMurtry’s MySpace page and Lightning Rod Records’ website.
McMurtry and Lightning Rod Records are encouraging fans to use the free mp3 to create their own videos and post them online. Fans can send links to their videos tomcmurtryvideo@gmail.com.
New James McMurtry Record Out April 15th
Lightning Rod Records will release singer/songwriter James McMurtry’s new CD, titled Just Us Kids, on April 15, 2008. McMurtry’s ninth album, which features 12 new songs, is a follow-up to 2005’s critically acclaimed and award-winning project, Childish Things. Stay tuned for more information.
Listen Up To Steve Poltz!
Steve Poltz is a musical dynamo with impressive credentials. A former punk/folk pioneer (The Rugburns), Poltz co-wrote the longest running song in Billboard chart history (Jewel's "You Were Meant For Me"), released one of Neil Young's favorite CDs (Answering Machine - a collection of over fifty 45-second songs recorded as outgoing messages), and is now the musical director and humorous sidekick of the web's most popular cyber-tech talk show ("The Hugh Thompson Show"). His brand-new album, Traveling (98 Pounder/30 Tigers), is his strongest recording ever, displaying all of the warmth, depth, and wry humor that has created a loyal, passionate fan base. Traveling hits shelves January 22nd.

CMT Announces Best Albums of 2007
Walt Wilkins and the Mystiqueros' Diamonds in the Sun comes in at #10 on CMT's Best Albums of 2007 (compiled by Chet Flippo).
"Texas artist Walt Wilkins has departed from his solo career by recording with the Mystiqueros, four very talented writers and singers who, with Wilkins, turn into one excellent country rock band. While the album veers wildly between a raucous, early Steve Earle vibe and an Eagles or Poco earnestness, the result is highly satisfying." Chet Flippo, CMT
Diamonds in the Sun has appeared on several "Top Ten" lists, including Take Back Country where it was the #2 Record of the Year!
Listen Up To The Nice Boys From New York!
In 1981, Andrew Morse formed the first incarnation of the band Nice Boys From New York in a rehearsal studio at Manhattan's Hotel Bretton Hall, featuring the guitar and vocal talents of Kevin Trainor, and drummer Howie Wyeth (former member of Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue). Their new record, Hotel Bretton Hall features sixteen new tracks written by Andrew Morse. Morse brings together an incredible lineup for this project, including Tony Garnier (Bob Dylan), Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan), Joel Diamond (Aerosmith, Graham Parker, The Rolling Stones), Charley Drayton (B52's, Divinyls), and Ronnie Johnson (James McMurtry) - it's the quintessential "Who's Who" of top musicians. Covering a wide range of traditional country genres, from two-step to waltz, from bluegrass to honky tonk rocker, Hotel Bretton Hall spans the country music landscape with a brilliant collection of songs that is destined to become an instant favorite
