JJW VS PALO DURO
Although fans and music lovers have been anxious to purchase the new compilation, Palo Duro Records has suspended distribution of its Viva! Terlingua! Nuevo! CD due to a pending lawsuit filed by Jerry Jeff Walker. Walker has sued, claiming copyright infringement and misappropriation of his identity. The album, subtitled "Songs of Luckenbach Texas," features songs by Gary P. Nunn, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Guy Clark, as well as Jerry Jeff Walker. In an official statement, Palo Duro president Chris Thomas said, "Because it believes it is in full compliance with the law, Palo Duro also intends to aggressively pursue its right to distribute the album. Palo Duro Records is firmly committed to this project, to the Luckenbach Texas Music Series, and to the rights of all artists to lawfully record, distribute and promote the songs of other songwriters as specifically provided for under federal copyright law." Stay tuned for updates on when this stellar compilation will be available.
